About Tristan
I come from a multicultural background—French-Canadian and South African—that has shaped my understanding of what it means to build community across differences.
Like so many in Ottawa-Vanier-Gloucester, I’ve lived the struggles that define our riding:
I share the fear of many young Canadians who hope to raise a family but do not know if they can afford it.
I ride the bus to work every day and know the frustration of unreliable transit.
I’ve started a small business and understand the challenges local entrepreneurs face.
I’ve lived with a parent who struggled with mental health and addiction, seeing how easy it is for people to be left behind without help.
I am proud to have dedicated my career to helping people and impactful organizations solve problems and build a brighter future.
As the founder of Roots of Purpose, I’ve helped non-profits, charities, and foundations grow their impact through strategy, storytelling and problem-solving. I’ve supported organizations tackling homelessness prevention, advancing climate action, and promoting the healthy development of children and youth.
In the past, I worked on Parliament Hill, where I was inspired by the dedication of NDP MPs to fight for people and deliver real change for all Canadians.
I’ve served on the board of community organizations—advocating for affordable housing, equity, and a more inclusive Ottawa—and on my local housing association, where I amplify and represent the voices of my neighbours.
These experiences—both in the community and at the heart of Parliament—have prepared me to be a responsive, effective, and compassionate representative for our riding.
My question to you is, are you ready to help us win?
